The Zoo

Today we took the kids to the zoo. We have been planning this trip for a while--the culmination of Isaac's off-track and the celebration of the fact that Ryan's semester is OVER and I am no longer a single parent!!!! (At least until school starts up again in the fall!) I'm am so excited to have him back! Here are the kids checking out the lions. And the cheetahs.
And the hippo statue.

It never fails...every time we go to the zoo, at least one of my kids points out some animal's, um, private parts. Usually when we are in a crowded area. Always in a loud voice and using correct terminology. Today...
Audrey: Look, Mommy, that rhinoceros has a big...
Me: (rushing forward, feeling like I'm in slow motion) Nooooo
Too late. She said it. The best part is the looks you get from the other parents, wondering what kind of a psycho you are to teach your four year old daughter the correct terminology for the male anatomy. It's called having an older brother, people, get over it.

You've got to love going to the zoo. There are really so many things to learn and discover.

The other parents are just nervous because it is inevitable that their child will say something embarrassing next....

The pics are so cute. Love them!

Can't wait to see you all!
