Isaac's birthday party was on Monday and had a space theme. It was a lot of fun, and luckily just the perfect amount of kids came. The day was rainy up until about an hour before the party and then the sun came out and the weather was perfect. The clouds rolled in again just as the party was ending. We did a bunch of fun spacey things--the best were the canister rockets that we made that literally were flying as high as our house! We also enjoyed the Space Shuttle pinata and "meteor shower" (water balloon fight.) We had only one injury--a poor little kid got hit in the head with a baseball bat during the pinata festivities, but he was okay after a bit. Here are some pictures of the day...
The moon cake surrounded by the planets and stars. As I was making the planets, Ryan was looking up pictures of the actual planets online to give me details of what they really look like. Obviously I wasn't that concerned with being accurate, considering the planets don't actually orbit the moon !

We had to have actual astronaut food!! The boys loved Tang and the astronaut ice cream was a hit!!

The kids were so excited--here they are right before the party started. Isaac wore his astronaut costume.
Here is the pinata.
Opening presents.
