Fourth Fun

We had a pretty laid back Fourth of July. All of our free time lately is spent finishing the basement--which is a pretty slow process when you are doing it all yourself. I did take the kids up to the school for a little baseball game in the afternoon, and then we had a tasty barbecue for dinner. I think the highlight of the day was watching Lincoln try watermelon for the first time! He devoured it and couldn't get enough. As soon as he was done with one piece, he would kick his legs and lean forward, begging for more. It was adorable.

We did get quite a fireworks show last night as well. The fact that it is illegal to shoot off fireworks didn't really seem to faze any of our neighbors. I don't know if they had a professional working for them or what, but seriously--they had some incredible fireworks just across the street behind us that went on for over an hour. We enjoyed watching them from our backyard. (They looked suspiciously like they were coming from the Graff's house...fess up Kristy, are you guys the pyros?? Don't worry, we won't tell...) I told Ryan that when the basement is done he should build a balcony off of our master bedroom so we can have a better view next year. :) He just looked at me. After our neighbors were done, we went upstairs and watched the real professional show over at Southlands. It was a nice end to a great day.

Hmmm...I think I heard Kristy mention that her neighbors had bought a TON of fireworks, so maybe it was them!

Don't you love it when your babies actually eat and you don't have to shove it down their throats!
