How about I take the kids and Kirby hiking?
Two words.
NEVER. AGAIN.
The kids did great, at least.
Kirby is terrified of the car. Wasn't a problem when he was a little puppy and I could just scoop him up and toss him in there with one hand. Now he weighs about as much as Isaac does and likes to be picked up and put into the car just about as much as Isaac would. So there was that issue.
Next issue. Car sickness. Massive amounts of dog vomit. Kids gagging at the smell. Maybe I should just leave the rest of that issue up to your imagination. Did I mention the two words NEVER AGAIN?
The hiking went okay...except that he insisted on leading the way and if anyone got in front of him he would pull the child holding the leash so hard that they would fall.
Anyway. The weather was beautiful--mid 70's up until it was time for us to leave. We were hiking in one of our favorite canyons. We had a great picnic lunch. Lincoln hiked the whole way by himself. It would have been a perfect day.
Never again.
Lincoln was so excited to finally see the "water fountain" we had been hearing for much of the second hike.

Kirby will get better on the hiking part. Don't know about the car sickness.
