Firehole Falls
Isaac: We drove and parked next to this waterfall. We saw a lot of waterfalls on our trip.Audrey: We are taking a picture at a waterfall. And it's a huge waterfall.
Chloe: We were at Firehole Falls.
Lincoln: Daddy! Me! Wah! Me, me, me! Aack! (Isaac) Odie! (Chloe) Audie! (Audrey)
Lindsay: We started off this chilly day with a drive to this incredible waterfall. The drive was beautiful and it was a good way to start the day since we got to be in the car for most of it!! The mornings were really cold!
Another steamy natural water feature
Isaac: This is us at a geyser. I can't remember what it is called, but it was really awesome. We got a picture right when it was erupting.Audrey: This is a picture about us at a giant geyser. It was exploding, I think. I don't know if it was exploded or not.
Chloe: We were at the geyser. It was poofing up.
Lincoln: Mommy! Me! Aack! Me!
Lindsay: Those warm geysers were really nice on the cold mornings.
Mystic Falls (Lincoln was with us--he was asleep on my back.)
Isaac: This is us at the end of a hike that we did. It was our first hike. I can't remember if it was to the falls or the natural bridge.Audrey: This is us at the giant bridge.
Chloe: We were at Mystic Falls.
Lincoln: Aack! Mommy, mommy! Mommy! Daddy. Daddy. Mommy. Aack. Audie, Odie.
Lindsay: This was a beautiful hike to this waterfall right beyond the geysers. It was only about three miles round trip, but the girls started getting "bored of nature" about half-way in. Oh well! Isaac had to go to the bathroom soooo bad that Ryan and him had to run the mile and a half from the falls back to the car. It's always an adventure with our family!
On the Lakeshore view hike
Isaac: This is us at a nature trail. We were standing on a bridge and my dad took a picture.Audrey: That is us going hiking. It's just a round hike. And we are walking on a bridge.
Chloe: We were on a hike, hiking. We were in a cabin at first. We slept in a bunk bed. Yay! I love bunk beds, don't you?
Lincoln: Audie! Audie! Mommy!
Lindsay: This was our second hike of the day, right after lunch. I loved this one as well--it was completely different than the Mystic Falls hike. We got to hike right up the mountain and finished with an incredible view of the lake. Audrey brought her trusty recorder along on this one which may have been annoying under other circumstances, but I was grateful for whatever noise was keeping bears away from us!
Check out this family picture--we used the tripod and everyone is not only looking at the camera, but we are all smiling!! It is an absolute miracle!! (Too bad my arm is partially blocking Isaac's head...)
Isaac: This is us at the same hike, I think. It has a view of Yellowstone Lake in the background.Audrey: That is our whole family taking a picture at the beautiful Yellowstone and at the top of the mountain.
Chloe: We were taking a picture at a mountain. A very tired mountain.
Lincoln: Mommy. More. Me. Me! Daddy? No. (Long sigh.)
Lindsay: The top of the mountain! We could hear elk bugling in the forest behind us.
