Our Christmas Letter (for my own records...)

What?! No two page, 10 pt. font novel about our family this year? I know you have all been waiting anxiously by your mailboxes for this annual tradition to continue. But it is to be no more. For those of you who really care about what goes on in our lives, we have this blog! For those of you who don' t really care...now you won't be subjected to it if you don't want to be.

Lincoln has added so much joy and happiness to our home. He is one year old now and his personality is growing just as fast as he is. He loves music and dancing, Winnie the Pooh, toys, his Daddy and doing whatever the big kids are doing. He still isn't walking or talking, but that's fine by us. He is our last and we will keep him a baby as long as he wants to be one!! Click here to see the little cutie on his first birthday!

Audrey and Chloe have had such a big year! In February we had a big scare when Chloe had to have an emergency appendectomy. Click here for more details. The girls have continued to take dance lessons and do really well. They had a great time performing at their recital in May. Here are some pictures of the day. I was soooooo excited when the girls started preschool in August!! They have both grown so much and are becoming great little readers!

Isaac is in second grade this year and excelling as always. He loves to read, read, read and read. I literally can't keep up with him! He will finish a chapter book by the time we get it home from the library! He had fun playing baseball this year and we were glad he had an incredibly patient and caring coach!

Ryan is as busy as ever--working full time as a Software Engineer, working on his Master's degree at SMU (only 2 more classes!!!!) and working on the house in all his free time. Ha. He is also the Secretary in the E.Q. Presidency at church. So, we never see each other, but somehow we make it all work.

I (Lindsay) am happy that Lincoln is older and eating real food. Four kids has been challenging to say the least, but we are into the swing of things now. I keep busy working a few nights a week at Gap Kids/Baby Gap, doing a book club, serving as the First Counseler in the Primary Presidency (the childrens organization) at church, and organizing and hosting a semi-annual Gift Boutique. Oh yeah, and taking care of my house and four kids! Never a dull moment.

Some other highlights of our year include: a quick trip to Utah to spend time with family and our annual trip to Disneyland as well as all of our hard work on the house--remodeling the loft into a bedroom for Lincoln and finishing the basement, which, thanks to the help of some dear friends, home teachers and E.Q. President, might just get finished before this calendar year is over. (Although I'm not holding my breath.)

We hope you are all doing well and that you come back and keep tabs on us! That is what this blog is here for! Merry Christmas!!

Love, The McFadden's--Ryan, Lindsay, Isaac (7), Audrey (5), Chloe (5) and Lincoln (1)
