Expelliarmus!

I have been reading the Harry Potter books out loud to the kids for a couple of months now.  Isaac has already read them all multiple times, but even he really enjoys our nightly ritual.  Our deal is every time we finish a book, we have a family movie night to watch the movie.  We finished the 4th book on Monday and the kids have been waiting with baited breath until we could watch the movie today.
I have seen a couple of recipes online for Butterbeer and I decided to make my own rendition tonight for our party.  It was a BIG hit--way, way too sweet for my taste, but the kids loved it!
Butterbeer
5 cans Diet Cream Soda
2 TBSP butter flavoring
4 TBSP butterscotch ice cream topping
1 cup Half and Half
7 oz. container marshmallow creme

Mix soda, butter flavoring and butterscotch in a large pot.  In a separate bowl, mix together half and half with marshmallow creme.  Pour Butterbeer into individual glasses to serve, and top each with cream topping.
And look how authentic it looks--hope no one gets carded!

You're such a fun mom! What a great way to motivate the kids to love books. Not that your kids have issues with that, but still it's nice to make it a family-oriented thing.
