Yesterday after Linky's playgroup, we loaded up a picnic and our hiking gear and headed down to one of our favorite hiking spots, Castlewood Canyon. We were wise this time around and all wore our snow boots. It was perfect--a beautiful, sunny Colorado day and NO cold feet!

Apparently Lincoln was a little disappointed because he had been under the impression that we were going to be hiking to a castle he could play in (Castlewood Canyon...) But he still had a great time. In fact all of them did! The kids played Pokemon/Little House on the Prairie the entire time. My kids are very imaginative. (Oh, and just so you know, in our family you say the "slash". So when I asked them what they were playing, it was "Pokemon slash Laura and Mary.) It was the best. hike. ever. Four miles. Two hours. Not a single complaint. No fighting whatsoever. I didn't even have to bribe anyone to keep walking. I kid you not. They were even asking if we could go hiking again today. I don't know what has happened. Maybe they finally figured out that we are a hiking family and we are going to keep doing it whether they want to or not, so they might as well enjoy it.

If you are sick of seeing pictures of my kids on hikes, just imagine how sick they are of posing for them!
Today we picked up Lincoln from preschool on our bikes and headed up to Lookout Park for a windy picnic. Then we continued on for a 5.5 mile ride. We are all a bit sunburnt now, but it was worth it!!
I think the high is going to be in the 30's tomorrow. It was good while it lasted!!
P.S. What is up with Blogger? It is doing random fonts on me, centering text, changing the size--what the heck??
